Styling Athletic Shoes for the Unathletic Person

GOOD MORNING! I am SUPER excited for this post because there is a giveaway at the end for all my Canadian readers that’s being held on my Instagram. Long story short, Converse launched a Canadian e-commerce website and to celebrate that, I want to give away a free pair of Converse to one of my lovely readers. All the details for how to enter will be at the bottom of the post 🙂
If you know me, I’m not an athletic person AT ALL. A while back I received the new Converse Leather Pro LP shoes for their campaign and as much as I love how comfortable they are, figuring out how to style it has been a journey. They are definitely on the more athletic/casual side so it’s been fun to try out different outfits so today, I bring you 3 looks on how I’ve styled them!
The first outfit is the most casual outfit you’ll ever catch me in. Whenever I think of athletic shoes, I think of being super casual. I decided to pair the shoes in a basic way, being a graphic tee, skirt and bandana. I decided to go for a complete black and white look for those minimalistic city vibes!

Top – Nakd
Skirt – Zara (old)
Scarf – Ardenes
Shoes – Converse
Wearing athletic type of shoes with a maxi pleated skirt is something I wouldn’t normally do but in the spirit of street style, I was totally feeling the look and paired it off with a leather jacket! The pink in the sweater adds some interest and since it’s fairly chilly this spring season, it’s perfect!

Outfit Details
Top – H&M
Jacket – Ardenes
Skirt – Joe Fresh x FLARE (old)
Shoes – Converse
The last outfit is definitely my favourite. I wanted to go for another city vibe outfit. I decided to go for the LEVIs 501 jeans because they are the perfect cut to dress up or down. I wanted it to be half casual and half dressy by having a graphic tee and blazer. The thin scarf was never a trend that I really tried out when it was more in season but I love the effect it adds to the overall outfit!

Outfit Details
Top – Brandy Melville
Blazer – ROMWE
Belt – Aldo
Shoes – Converse

Thank you so much! It was so hard to style but I'm glad I made it work 🙂

Adrienne has been an absolute pleasure to work with over the last few years. We’ve collaborated on a couple of campaigns now, and not only does she get great results for our clients, but she always goes above and beyond what we ask for and creates the most exceptional, creative content! Adrienne has an eye for art direction like no other, and any brand would be very lucky to get the chance to work with her.
