I know, I know, a beauty post from me is really unheard of. I’ve probably had a maximum of 10 posts on my blog related to beauty but everyone knows I’m not someone who buys a lot of beauty products and I tend to finish a product before moving on a buying a new one (or repurchase). I’ve actually been using new products lately so I thought I’d compile a list of my current beauty favourites from skincare, hair and makeup!
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
Over the last few months I’ve been trying a few different products to clear up a huge breakout I had that’s been taking forever to heal. I’ve never really had breakouts and fortunately, my skin has never encountered anything major. To give you a better sense of things, me having one small pimple was a huge deal so to go from that to literally a forehead full of pimples made me feel really insecure at times. It wasn’t something that I was always insecure about but over time, when it wouldn’t heal like it normally would if I ever got a simple, it started to get to me. After a couple of months and the marks were still there, I decided to do some research on products and that’s when I discovered The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution. I’ve heard so many positive reviews on this company and in particular, a Toronto blogger that opened up about her adult acne talked about how it helped her. So, I took it upon myself to do some research to find out which The Ordinary product would help me the most and within a week, I noticed a huge difference. The marks are still there but they’ve healed SO much better than other products I used to use.
Pai Shau Sublime Hairspray
One of the struggles I had for a while was finding a hairspray that worked on my hair. Luckily, when I was introduced to Pai Shau a couple of years ago, it was a god send! It was exactly what I was looking for. This past summer, the humidity has been crazy so this hairspray for some reason didn’t work as well as before unless it wasn’t as humid but I figured out a solution with the next hairspray I’ll mention.
Marc Anthony True Professional Bye Bye Frizz Hairspray
Marc Anthony Cosmetics recently relaunched their Bye Bye Frizz collection to be silicone free. Along with it, they did release a few new products to the lie. I’ve been loving their hairspray but I’m not going to lie, I use the sublime one first and then follow it with this one because it maintains it’s hold and fights humidity. This combination is definitely a life saver and has been my go-to whenever I style my hair!
Marc Anthony True Professional Bye Bye Frizz 8 in 1 Serum
Another gem from this collection is their 8 in 1 serum. The main way I use it is after I style my hair so that there is no frizz. It works perfectly and is so tiny that I can keep it in my purse whenever I’m out taking blog photos and need a touch up! I love the smell of this line because it’s not overbearing which is something I hate only because when I wear perfume, I feel like all the scents are fighting with one another.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Palermo
I’ve recently started to use more Stila products since I got my makeup done at a TIFF Beauty Lounge with Shoppers Drug Mart last September. Their products were amazing and I received a little gift from that event and started using their Stay All Day Liquid lipstick. I’m obsessed with the colour selection but am currently loving the shade “Palermo”. It definitely does the name justice and stays on all day!
