It is without a doubt summer practically everywhere in the world. I think a lot of places have been going through heat waves recently and it’s been no picnic trying to shoot with harsh sunlight or thunderstorms. If it’s not burning hot in Toronto, there’s probably a thunderstorm that’s going to happen and as I write this, one just passed and the sky right now looks like a sepia tone filter in real life. Moving on, summer is the time I’m excited to pull out all the lighter colours I have in my wardrobe. I do think that I’m going to experiment a bit with muted tones this summer but until then, I’ll stick to my purples, blues and pinks like you’ll see in this year’s summer lookbook!
The first outfit is the most casual. I love wearing overall dresses or shorts (like this one from SheIn) because it’s so easy to put an outfit together. You just throw on any top underneath and some cute Converse and you’re set. I did change it up by wearing these suede light pink Converse I got as a gift from the company last year! I actually get a lot of wear out of them since I own a bunch of light pink items for the summer.

Another easy outfit to put together is a romper. I’m obsessed with this one that I got from SheIn simply because of the flowy sleeves and open back. The floral print is also not like a typical floral print you see during the summer. I paired it with rose gold octagonal sunglasses from Forever21 and rose gold sandals to complete the look!

The Chanel vibes are real for this outfit. The minute I saw this dress from the Zara SS18 collection, I instantly came up with this outfit in my mind and knew I had to buy the dress. I love almost every tweed item they come out with and the beloved tweed matching set I wore to the Estee Lauder Loves Canada dinner a couple of years ago no longer fits. I finally had the guts to donate it so I had to immediately add a new tweed item in my closet. The buttons are so cute and it reminded me of earrings I always see whenever I go thrifting so I went on the hunt for one and found one that matched perfectly in size, design and colour. For the shoes, I went with my new favourite pair that I got from Forever 21 that was featured in my summer collective haul video on my channel.

Finally, for the last outfit, it’s probably my favourite (and least appropriate for summer). I say that because when I shot it, it was perfect for the beginning of summer but now with the heat wave, there is probably no way I’d be able to wear it without getting a heat stroke. The lavender pants were already a pop of colour but I wanted to accessorize it with these dangling bauble earrings to tie it all together. It’s pretty common to wear white with a statement colour piece but the best way to make the outfit look chic overall is to accessorize with the same colour!
