Co-ordinate Your Wardrobe 5.0: Gingham

Okay, I realize it’s the end of the month and I haven’t posted a single blog post! Toronto loves to rain on the weekends which is the only time I have to shoot blog content so I think the weather is out to get me. Moving on, the weather again is still bipolar but for the most part, it’s pretty warm! We still have a bit of spring-like weather but that’s fine by me. I’m so stoked for you all to see my summer posts but you should definitely follow along on Instagram more because I’ve been finding hidden gems when it comes to photoshoot locations. Most of these places aren’t ideal for a full out outfit post (I love having different angles) so I tend to only shoot a photo for Instagram!

You all know by now that matching sets are one of my favourite things to invest in. Recently, I receivedΒ this matching gingham set from SheIn and I was so excited to style it. So of course, the way I show you all how to style matching sets, is by showing 3 ways to wear it: together and the two pieces separately!

OUTFIT 1: TOGETHER

Whenever I see gingham, my immediate thought goes to a picnic blanket and from there I think of straw hats so the easiest way to dress the entire set up was by wearing a straw hat. This hat is the classic one I’ve worn in all my summer posts last year from Mendocino. When I came across this Italian restaurant, I instantly got winery vibes in Italy when I took the photos!

OUTFIT 2: TOP

Gingham is still an on going trend from last year but I feel like tops were more popular. I wanted to style the top differently by a subtle pattern mixing with the polka dot neck scarf tied in my hair in a low ponytail! I kept the look black and white and accessorized it with cat eye sunglasses which was definitely out of my comfort zone but I thought it completed the overall look

OUTFIT 3: BOTTOM

To break up the black and white looks, I decided to be very casual and wear a graphic tee with the skirt. I love this “DARLIN'” tee from Na-kd. You’ve probably seen all the influencers wear it but it’s honestly so cute. I’ve also been loving these octagonal sunglasses from Forever21 and you’ll definitely be seeing me in these a lot this summer!

Hope you enjoyed today’s post! I’m going to do my best to upload on here more often but following along on Instagram is a great way to see my outfits before I even post about it here πŸ™‚

Gingham pieces are sooo cute! I’ve been on the hunt for a baby yellow gingham – I think that’ll be super cute for summer
