It’s been almost a year since I’ve posted an outfit challenge and it was about time I was due for a new one! Now that spring is starting to actually gear up here in Toronto, I’m incredibly excited to show this outfit I was able to put together while I was shopping at Value Village a few weeks ago. Basically for these outfit challenges, I set a price and try to put together a complete outfit. I usually don’t include shoes because I tend to wear the same few pairs over and over again!
Whenever I find something from Banana Republic at a thrift store, I get so excited because it’s always been a great piece. I found this shirt that was actually hidden in a different section and it was a medium. I figured right away that this would be an oversized fit, tied in the front. I had the vision all planned out! The top was only $8.50 so I knew it was going to be a purchase right away.
As I continued my search for mom jeans, I ended up stumbling across this amazing red pair for only $11! I’m very particular when it comes to wearing all one colour in an outfit but I was very keen to try both pieces on together when I looked at it side by side. I ended up LOVING the ensemble and was ecstatic how both items were versatile but look very put together when they’re paired with one another.
I couldn’t help but adding sunglasses to this look so I paired it with this pair from H&M that I got for $12. It’s funny how the sunglasses were the most expensive part of the entire outfit! I threw on some loafers I got from Winners last year.
TOTAL: TOP ($8.50) + JEANS ($11) + SUNGLASSES ($12) = $31.50
Can you put together an outfit for less than $50? Let me know if you’re up to the challenge in the comments below!
