A Guide To Wearing Pastels During Fall/Winter

The weather in Toronto is being so on and off this week. Last week there were -10 degree days but this week, it went up to 12 degrees and was super sunny. The effects of climate change is honestly so bizarre. With that being said, I am extremely excited because pretty much all the holiday decor is up in the city and I am ecstatic for all the holiday festivities that I will try to do this season. Also, be sure to follow my Instagram if you want to see everything I’m up to!

As someone who loves wearing earthy tones, wearing lighter colours during the fall/winter doesn’t appeal to me as much. It’s not that I have anything against lighter colours in the fall/winter, I just tend to gravitate towards a darker colour palette. I do, however, own a some pinks and purples in my closet that are perfect for winter that I thought I’d share as part of my fall to winter transition post.

To start off, I thought I’d share a very casual outfit. Winter tends to call for slouchy and cozy knit sweaters which is why I’ve found the perfect one from Tobi. Their ‘Getting Warmer’ sweater has a gorgeous lace up back that elevates the slouchy sweater look. I wore my trusty Twik Embroidered Jeans from Simons to tie, my go-to ankle booties and paired it with a shearling jacket to make it a casual winter outfit. I love that the lace up details don’t reveal so much of your back so you can easily layer the sweater with thermal underneath for extra warmth!

The reason this post came to be was because of how much I wanted to wear this outfit. I’ve actually worn this outfit before but never shot it for my blog. It was featured in a “Shop my Instagram Outfits” post back in April but I wanted to add a small detail to it, which was this beret from Le Chateau. Adding it gave off the complete Blair Waldorf goes skating vibe and you bet the next time you see it on my social media, I will be on an ice rink.

Last but not least is my favourite sweater I’ve bought this year If you don’t know, purple is my absolute favourite colour (specifically the lavender/lilac shade). Another favourite of mine are frills and ruffles so this sweater was a MUST in my closet. To make it a more casual look, I wore it with a denim skirt and white ribbed tights. I tend to go for more casual looks for the winter since there’s always a bunch of layers underneath.
